i am deep sea grateful for such a table.

i will go out of town this weekend

for a bit of solitude & pull up a chair.

i now reach out my heart & hand

to reflect the same affirmation to you...

story time

i was magnificently gifted with this story

from a friend

& included now is my illustration...

the text reads as follows:

a blue bird came to me this morning.

wake up, wake up was his song.

go away, go away, i don't want to start my day.

but the day is beautiful.

i don't care...

the blue bird kept nagging & begging,

get up, go out, the sun will warm you.

leave me alone...

the blue bird flew away,

up high into the sky.

it came back with a ray from the sun

& laid it on my face.

i got up & went out.

it was a beautiful day...

seeing through these eyes

our 12 year old, sam, told me he was thinking about something he knew i'd like but wasn't so sure about telling me. i said pleeeeeeeeease tell me & bribed him with a back scratch.

it worked & i wrote it alongside this drawing.

i made the hair on this illustration curly & full in honor of him...but i still can't help but draw figures mostly in the female form!

i can do magic anywhere

our 14 year old son, abe, had really gotten into

magic card tricks

& said this one morning

when he slipped the deck into his robe pocket.

(hmmm ** maybe we all can, maybe we all can).

see anew

sometimes going somewhere else

(in my case recently, northern mn woods)

helps me to see anew

& this began w/the encouragement to

slow down

& look up

& all around me

& always within~
sharing now
such branches
w/you
& love
to what filters through
your eyes.

playing with thread

over our december holiday time away,

tucked in the north woods of mn,

i played with thread & stitched words into my clothes,

like, love finds me...

& free,

& a butterfly even came to visit :)

i'll include a couple photos of these woods soon,
& extend their branches to you.
