linger a little longer

i was feeling tired out & for one full day i was moved to linger a little longer. instead of getting right out of the car when i turned off the ignition, i first sat there a few minutes. i ate my food slower. i stopped to smell flowers. i found that i saw things that i wouldn't have otherwise... pretty people walking by, a cardinal, & so on. & i felt more grateful, content, & rested. ahhh.

YES! What a gift to yourself - a few extra moments to feel the day. I often tell people that one simple step towards appreciating the beauty around them on a deeper level is to spend one full minute with a flower. No distractions, just you and the flower. You discover so much you never saw before and hear whispers of wisdom that were drowned out before. You just illustrated it - wow!

What lovely words :) this is something I think we all forget to do from time to time. Life can move by so quickly, it sure is good to linger a little longer with certain moments :) Another inspiring image and phrase. Lovely.

Tonight I walked out of the gas station and smelled the most glorious flowery mixture of jasmine and orange blossoms. I lingered in it, standing there inhaling the air until it disappeared. And now here I linger in your beautiful artwork and words!

Joyfully,
Carissa

The one nice thing about growing older is that lingering is at the top of your daily comings and goings.
