the art of us/part two of two & a listening offering

here is the rest, continued from my november 11 post.

also, i want to extend a listening offering,
inspired by the suggestion of lisa from http://joytoyouandme.blogspot.com/.
if you would like to either send me an email (rachelawes@gmail.com)
or leave a comment here about what YOU love,
i will choose something that moves me to draw
& post it here anonymously toward the end of november
(i'll let that person know through email)
& as for the rest, i will simply send you light & love from my heart,

Love them! Especially the first one. My kids and I play that game.
The first thought that came to mind (which I'm not sure why - it doesn't happen all that often - maybe that's why it's so special) is when I'm in bed and all my kids start filing in one by one until all four of them are hanging out in bed with me talking, goofing, wrestling, sharing. Story telling with four kiddos snuggled in the bed feels like a cozy nest full of love.

Oh, that last one. I think that would be a good print to have in my home. That's what I want my home to feel like, for me and others. I'm tearing up as i read it again and again.

I love all your beautiful, colorful work. Shame on those publishers for not accepting it! I also love that, even though I'm divorced (not something I chose), I don't have anyone spending my time

I love them all
....like the slivers of sparkling
embers leaping from a cozy fire
burning warm and well.
Oh the things that whoosh
out from the light burning
bright inside of you!
It's a wonder and a beauty
to be near.
Makes me want to draw in closer
and toast my heart mellow and soft
over the friendly flames.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh........

you and your work are cherished!

as far as what I LOVE...
I'll have to send an email, because I will need to give that a little more thought than I have time for at the moment.
blessings to you...

I love that I can still maintain a positive attitude through cancer treatment, through a spinal abscess and be rewarded by falling in love with a man I first met when I was 14 (I am 53 now).

Your artwork is so inspiring! My favorite is the third one!

Be still my heart! Ohhh. "The last number." I think if Renee Zellweger had said that in Jerry McGuire, that is what we would all be saying.

These are all incredibly touching and beautiful!

These are really special Rachel, made with love from a very kind heart.
I love paint on my hands and the pure joy that comes from making art. :)

I don't believe in heaven and I don't like Dr. Pepper - with all the rest I go along gladly, happily, lovingly!
And the last number would be my life!

I always love your art and words. Thank you so much for sharing!

Okay--I have a "nomination" for what words you should put into Art. The words are your own--You left them on Chrissy's 5 Kernels of Corn post:
"simplicity
silence
open space
less
instructs us
into
seeing much." Rachel Awes

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Rachel. You're AWESome! ; )
