Tee hee! My husband and I are always playing the name game. We come up with scenarios of what we should change our names to and what we would end up like with said name. Rockefeller? Rich as hell. Schnefferfeller - geeks. Sometimes we play with just changing the last, sometimes the whole thing. Then we come up with the stories to match. Generally we are very bored when doing this. It will start out serious and then it gets really extreme and funny and we laugh and laugh. Cute art, great name choice and thanks for the reminder of good times. :)

ok...you ready? my grandpa always told his 6 girls (yes 6!...no boys) that his real name was harold eugene ebekanezer skinner black maxwell delano rudolph wallace. my mom made sure we ALWAYS knew each name. he wasn.t ENTIRELY lying however...his birth name was harold eugene wallace!!!! he was such a tease. i wish i would have known him. loving your work dear deer. and you xo chrissy

This is priceless, the concept is priceless, and rosemary flower butter pumpkin, too priceless...our erin, before she could talk called herself ernos, so our whole family still uses this for our 27 yr. daughter in endearment ways, and she called me mamba and my husband da-hee...they all stuck and i LOVE as i do you for turning this into ART, per usual!!! xoxo
Oh this is so fun! I was just telling a friend that I used to have a "pet" chipmunk who lived in our front yard. I would wait on the steps for her to emerge from her hole, go prancing around the neighborhood and then return. She wasn't afraid of me. And I named her Skippy But The Biffy!

Absolutely L-O-V-E it!! When I was in second grade I came up with Mary SunshineFlower in response to kids teasing me, because my last name is Fresh. I was putting this name on the top of all of my school papers until the parent-teacher conferences when my teacher addressed it w/my mother. I don't remember getting in any real trouble for it...but I did eventually go back to my given name. And, to this day whenever I am having a hard time and I need some motivation or encouragement, I'll send an e-card or letter to myself, signed Mary SunshineFlower :-)

Fun post...I have always had my name misspelled and miss pronounced and wanted to have any other name but the one I have...Dee is what I started calling myself about ten years ago. As a child I liked the name sparkle.
Your question reminded me of a conversation with my Mom once (when she was 79). As a little girl she had wished her name was Andrea instead of Audrey. It made me see my mom in a different way...the little girl side of her. It was sweet.
a friend (dear tim p!) shared w/me that his sister named herself this as a child.

Very sweet! When my daughter was 20 months or so, she started calling herself Harper Jane Mud Puddle. She loves puddles. :)
