hhhmmm, very cute. only your creative, beautiful brain would put such visual loveliness to a name... can't say i'd know what an "izzy" would look like. =) big hug.

Hi Rachel,
We live in St. Paul, too. I used to be a psychologist, Kat is in an MSW program and my husband is a behavioral pediatrician but I was drawn by your great picture of "Prairie" (I grew up in SD). I will look more.

Come and visit our blog...we just started it recently and our Etsy store, awhile ago.

So perfect for Earth Day! Fantastic, all the green, and the lines look like vines on her legs. And ooooooh, the flowers in her hair! I am drinking it all in!

I still remember the first thing you ever said to me: "Your name is like poetry." Such a lovely greeting from a woman who is, herself, a poem.

miss always make my day.
i dream of the prairie.
you
meet
her.
i read of the prairie.
you
color
her.
i want to lay down in the long, cool grass and hide away and watch the stars appear over the prairie....
but
you
bring
her
to
me.
in all her abundance of posies and "signature" green floral kicks that she most certainly should be wearing.
where
did
you
come
from?
im so happy you did.
huge hugs to

Isn't that the coolest name . . . of course, Rachel, you have to know that I've always wanted to be named Rachel. I've loved it forever. I'm probably a Rachel at heart.
Extra awesome drawing, too - - I love that idea of being filled up to the brim with prairie flowers. Ahhhh. . .

Dear Rachel-thanks so much for visiting my blog. I really love your work-the rhythm and colors, the flow and energy and the message behind them. We are at the start of a long process of moving (selling our home etc) but once we settle down, I would love to buy a print for my daughters' nursery-the one I love is "we are not mean to fit in..." BRILLIANT! I just left a message on Julliette Crane's blog as well-her work is amazing too. I hope I have enough space on my walls for all the amazing artists out here:)I want my daughter to have strong, powerful messages and beautiful images/art to grow up with.
